Inspector of Mui Tsai appears. It has been customary in the past for the inspection of mui tsai to be carried out by a senior Sub-Inspector seconded from the Police. The officer at present seconded has done good work in the post for several years but would in the natural course of events revert to the Police next year and it has been considered desirable, in view of the im- portance of the work, that the specialized experience which he has gained therein and his aptitude for the duties of a post which calls for considerable tact and discretion, should not be wasted.
